Material flowers, also known as silk strips, have a surface that resembles silver white threads. The factor it causes is the generation of water vapor floating on the surface of the plastic.

Every type of plastic has its own water absorption properties, some have high water absorption and some have low water absorption. For example, polyester and PC have high water absorption, and raw materials that have not been dried will have high water content. This water will be heated in the screw and turn into water vapor, which will be shot into the mold cavity together with the plastic, floating on the surface of the plastic and producing material flowers.

In addition to damaging the appearance of the product, material waste will continue to cause a decrease in the characteristics of the material due to the dissolution of water vapor. Dealing with the problem of material waste is relatively simple, just ensure that the moisture content of the material is within the allowable standards of the processing technology.

Under normal circumstances, there are basically no problems with using a dryer to dry raw materials. If it is continuous rainy and humid weather, for materials with high moisture content such as polyester PC, a dehumidifier and dryer should be used to remove the moisture from the material.
